Are you passionate and knowledgeable about landscape, heritage, and archaeology? We are looking for a Community Heritage Officer to help deliver this £2.8m 5-year Landscape Partnership Scheme (LPS) at the heart of one of the UK’s finest and most distinctive landscapes.

The LPS has been designed to conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the Central Chilterns and to inspire communities to learn, create and act to care for their local area.

You will play a key role delivering our ambitions to tell the story of the rich social, industrial and community heritage of the Chilterns and to engage a wider and more diverse audience in understanding, celebrating, and protecting it by establishing and managing a range of projects.

You will be comfortable recruiting and enthusing a new generation of volunteers to get involved in local heritage projects. You will be a team player who brings a fresh, creative, and innovative approach to the interpretation of local heritage.

You will be part of a small team based in Chinnor, working with multiple partners across the scheme area. You will also have the opportunity to work with the Beacons of the Past, Hillforts Project (also led by the Chilterns Conservation Board), and to access the LiDAR imagery of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty recently commissioned as part of that project.

If you have the skills and experience we need, combined with a passion for the Chilterns landscape, its communities, and its heritage, we would love to hear from you.
