ZOA is looking for an Emergency Coordinator

ZOA’s programme in Myanmar.

In Myanmar, ZOA is registered as a Consortium of Dutch NGOs (CDN). CDN-ZOA works with disaster and conflict-affected people to improve their livelihoods and food security, their sanitation and hygiene situation and their access to clean water. CDN-ZOA also promotes peaceful solution for conflicts and supports the people to be prepared for disasters.

Your challenge
The Emergency Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the emergency projects and the development of new emergency responses in Rakhine. Project activities address the needs of newly displaced persons in Kyauktaw and Sittwe townships and include WASH, Shelter, Food Security, Nutrition and Protection activities.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

Project Activities
  • Responsible for successful project implementation, including the support and management of project staff (remotely and on-site)
  • Monitor and evaluate activities, including supporting the design of project management tools for MEAL of activities
  • Analyse and interpret activity results, identify negative and positive impacts, challenges and lessons learnt; and where appropriate take corrective action
  • Conduct site needs assessments and determines appropriate emergency responses
  • Administration and Budget Management
  • Manage related activity budgets; reviewing and approving project expenditures within authority level
  • Forecast project expenditures on a monthly basis
  • Support development of concept notes and proposals
Reporting
  • Report regularly on activity progress, challenges and risks in ZOA Manager
  • Compile reports and presentations for internal and external use including for donors
Other
  • Develop security plans for line-managed project staff, and act as security focal point
  • Maintain and enhance positive relations with the donor, partner organizations and other key stakeholders
  • Representation in sector fora and meetings as required

Identity
  • The candidate is expected to fully support the vision, mission and Christian values of ZOA
Knowledge & Experience
  • Knowledge in Project cycle management
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the management of relief project(s)
  • Experience in leadership and management of people of different cultural background
  • Experience in data collection and analysis
Skills & Attitude
  • Project design and proposal writing skills
  • Passion to serve the poor
