WWF Indonesia Job Vacancy: Marine Spatial Planning and Database Specialist - Denpasar

Yayasan WWF Indonesia, an independent national conservation organization, is part of a global network of WWF. Yayasan WWF Indonesia is seeking the best candidate for the Marine Spatial Planning and Database Specialist position. This position will be based in Denpasar, and report directly to the National Coordinator for Marine Science and Knowledge Management.

This position will be providing operational support in the form of data and spatial analysis/GIS in marine spatial planning marine and fisheries conservation program (Marine and Fisheries) – such as area base maps, spatial planning, space utilization; database management for the Marine and Fisheries Program (MnF) division for ensuring the support of all implementation and needs of projects and programs are met appropriately time; support in the concept, implementation, and management of data related to ecological monitoring and social; as well as maintaining the quality of programs related to Marine Protected Areas (MPA) and other related programs with the field of marine science and Knowledge Management in a good database system.

Requirements for this position are:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Marine Science, environmental science, conservation, or appropriate major, Master (S2) is preferred.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, whether speaking, explaining data and information, or making recommendations.
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Speak English both orally and in writing
  • Spatial planning
  • Conservation area development strategy
  • Knowledge of the landscape-seascape approach
  • GIS Applications and Database Software
  • Having the ability to dive is preferred
  • Computer LAN/Hardware/Software/Troubleshooting
