Senior M&E Capacity Building Advisor - Management Systems International | Washington

Project Summary:
The purpose of the four-year project will be to design and manage a comprehensive system to gather and analyze data that informs USAID’s Feed the Future (FtF) program through impact evaluation, performance monitoring, and knowledge sharing. This monitoring and evaluation project will cover USAID FtF activities worldwide. The Feed the Future initiative is a Presidential Initiative that seeks to improve nutrition and increase agricultural productivity in Africa, Asia and Latin America.


Position Summary:
MSI is seeking a Senior Capacity Building Advisor to serve as the lead expert on capacity cuilding and training, as well as the principal coordinator of training and skills development activities. This is a long-term position, based in Washington, D.C., and will involve extensive international travel. The project is expected to begin in late 2011.


Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Bureau of Food Security, USAID field missions, and host country institutions around the developing world; • Organize capacity building efforts in the areas of research and analysis, implementing monitoring and evaluation systems and effective reporting and communication of program results; • Design and provide training to USAID and partner institutions on using impact evaluation methodologies and analyzing evaluation results.


Qualifications:
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in training and capacity building; • Strong background in monitoring and evaluation, including impact evaluation methodologies; • Graduate degree in a discipline related to monitoring and evaluation; • Technical experience in food security, agriculture, poverty reduction, nutrition, natural resource management, and/or vulnerable populations; • Experience on USAID funded projects strongly preferred; • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the developing world on short-term assignments; • Current US work authorization required.
