PROGRAM DESCRIPTION/MISSION The goal of the Cap Haitien Shelter Program is to provide 750 dwellings to the people who have been affected by the 2010 earthquake in the Port-au-Prince area. The goal of providing these units in Cap Haitien is to decongest the overcrowded capital and encourage IDPs to migrate to the Cap Haitien Development Corridor where a new Industrial park and a new port are planned. The program also aims at providing safe, durable and affordable housing models that the Government of Haiti (GOH) can adopt to reconstruct the affected areas in other low income housing settlements.
