Area Coordinator - Tearfund, Kabul

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager with proven leadership and project cycle management experience to take responsibility for Tearfund operational project sites in Afghanistan.

This role is Kabul based requiring regular travel primarily to Kandahar but also Jawzjan in the north. The projects in Kandahar are remotely managed so experience of remote working methodologies is required. The successful candidate will have relevant relief experience and leadership, coupled with experience in project design and management, finance and strategic planning. Experience of working in insecure locations is absolutely essential.

Responsibilities will include the management of staff responsible for site specific financial, logistics and human resources functions and regular communication with other agencies, partner organisations and with the Deputy Programme Director. You will also be responsible for the timely writing of project proposals and reports on all field activities.

The job holder must be able to demonstrate that they are able to work at times with limited direct supervision. Relevant overseas experience and appropriate cross-cultural awareness of this part of the world are essential, combined with a commitment to Tearfund’s approach and those we seek to serve.

Overseas Gross Salary: £28,126 Unaccompanied post
