Amnesty International is currently setting up a new office in Brazil for which we are seeking an experienced Office Manager to assist the Executive Director in the establishment of this office and to deliver on-going organizational support services. This is an exciting new opportunity, helping Amnesty International to spread our reach in Brazil and you will be key to enabling the team to work effectively on human rights issues. If you have experience of successfully managing a busy office and of implementing efficient operating support systems then this could be the role for you.

About the role
The importance and value of this post cannot be underestimated, particularly at this early stage in the creation of Amnesty’s office presence in the region. Working closely with the Executive Director in Brazil you will be instrumental to the office set-up, overseeing the selection and on-going management of local service providers, setting up administrative systems and procedures while supporting the recruitment, relocation induction and administrative office support of staff.

About you
This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is passionate about human rights for all and equipped to help Amnesty in the set-up of our new office location. You must have experience of negotiating with suppliers, liaising with external advisers, managing budgets, creating information systems and managing staff. You will be a great team player, with the ability to use your initiative and will possess a positive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational and planning skills. Your proactive approach and excellent attention to detail will enable you to provide a high quality and efficient support service. You will need to be able to respond to challenges and last minute changes in a calm and proactive manner. You must be fluent in Portuguese with a good working knowledge of oral and written communication skills in English.
