PROGRAM ADVISOR | China
The Asia Foundation (TAF) is seeking a Program Advisor for its Beijing, China Office (referred to as CH.) Under the direction of the Country Representative (CR) and Deputy Country Representative (DCR), the Program Advisor provides management support and assists the CR and DCR in managing TAF’s programs in China. The Program Advisor will be involved in TAF-CH program development, management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The Program Advisor will also assist with financial, administrative, and communications duties. In addition, the Program Advisor will assist the CR and DCR in representing TAF-CH with the host government, donors, partner agencies, diplomatic missions, national and international institutions, as well as the media.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education Graduate degree in development studies, economics, project management, or related field
Experience
•Minimum of five years professional experience showing increasing responsibility, or the equivalent, in the field of international development within Asia either with a public, bilateral, or multi-lateral development institution; or a non-profit organization.
•Extensive experience in proposal and report writing, program budgeting, donor compliance, strategic planning, fundraising, and the management of international donor-funded projects.
Skills
•Demonstrated management and supervisory skills
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Proven interpersonal and intercultural skills
Preferred
•Living and working experience in Asia
•Language proficiency in Mandarin
•Background in one or more of the following fields: public policy, public administration, international relations, women’s education / development, economics, foreign affairs, or Asian Studies
