BACKGROUND Intervida is an international development NGO. We defend children’s rights and promote sustainable social change by improving the living conditions of the vulnerable populations, especially children. Our development projects are aimed at promoting dignity and improving the living conditions of children and their families. Thus, our point of reference is the international Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our action areas are: education and heath as priority sectors; food security and economic development as complementary sectors; and environment, community participation and gender as cross-cutting sectors. Intervida has been working in Cambodia since 2005 in partnership with local NGOs.
MISSION Direct and coordinate the Country Office based in Phnom Penh. It will be necessary to travel frequently to other provinces (Kratie, Battmbang, Svay Rieng)
PROFILE REQUISITES
Junior/senior: Senior
Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent background in development, child rights, social science, social rights and social development, or a related field
Languages: Excellent spoken and written English. Spanish and Khmer will be a plus.
Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of child rights programming
Experience: - At least 5 years of relevant professional work experience in international development programs with a focus on child rights in Asia Pacific/South East Asia - Extensive experience and demonstrated capacity in working with multi-stakeholder groups involving local government units, government and private institutions and non-governmental organizations
Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to work with and lead a team
OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB 1) Transfer and ensure compliance with the work guidelines in the Country Office according to the guidelines established in Fundación Intervida headquarters. 2) Guarantee the proper investment of funds and adherence to the Annual Operating Plans and Budgets 3) Direct and Coordinate personnel in the County Office 4) Represent the Country Office at National level 5) Establish and promote development programs jointly with local partners
JOB CONDITIONS:
SALARY 30.000 € base gross salary per annum in accordance with the candidate’s experience and actual permanent residence.
LOCATION The Country Delegate will be based in the Central Office of Intervida Foundation Cambodia located in Phnom Penh city.
DURATION OF THE ASSIGMENT The initial duration is expected to be 12 months with possible extension
