WORK GLOBALLY, BUILD PARTNERSHIPS, BRING ABOUT LASTING CHANGE
1.4 billion people globally live in poverty and last year, we supported 26 million of them, but we want to reach more…. VSO is different from most organisations that fight poverty. Instead of sending money or food, we bring people together to share skills and knowledge. In doing so, we create lasting change. You can be one of these people…
We are looking for a General Manager to lead VSO’s vision to become a key authority on volunteering for development within China. You will demonstrate strategic leadership qualities and you will be responsible for raising the profile of volunteering and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in development at national level.
People are our greatest asset and you will be tasked with creating a high-performing, creative environment where staff and volunteers will feel valued and empowered. We will look to you to contribute to VSO global income targets by leading on the identification of funding opportunities for VSO China and VSO International.
You will be skilled at building strong relationships and working collaboratively with a wide range of government, NGO and corporate stakeholders. Excellent judgment, and representational skills, and an entrepreneurial and independent working style will be critical. An understanding or experience of international development and fundraising is also highly desirable.
Proficiency in English and Cantonese or Mandarin is essential.
