Administrative/Program Assistant

An international non-profit organization working on Democracy & Good Governance programs, seeks to hire a Thai National for the position of Administrative/Program Assistant for its Thailand office. The organization is headquartered in Washington, D.C. with field offices around the globe, including eight in Asia.

The position will be based in Bangkok and will require travel throughout Thailand.

The Administrative/Program Assistant will support the existing expatriate & local staff in implementing a program focused on strengthening communication and interaction between Thai citizens and political representatives.

Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
  • providing administrative assistance to the Country Director and Thai staff.
  • assisting colleagues in liaising with civil society organizations, government agencies and Thailand’s main political parties;
  • assist with establishing a data base of contacts;
  • travel to regions of Thailand identified by the Country Director for the implementation of this program;
  • under close supervision and direction, contribute to writing and reporting of program activities;
  • under close supervision assist in the tracking of program expenditures;
  • assisting colleagues in coordinating and organizing activities with local partners;
  • monitoring domestic & international media on articles pertaining to Thailand.
The successful candidate must be fluent in both written and spoken English as well as Thai; be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office; have proven ability to work as a part of a team; demonstrate nonpartisanship in the execution of program activities; and be able to multi-task in a fast paced and often changing work environment. The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate in Political Science or International Relations.
