The Swiss Red Cross (SRC) is part of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – the world’s largest independent humanitarian organization. The movement has three parts: the national Societies, the international Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
 
The SRC has over the years supported the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in responding to disasters across the country. For our recovery program related to the impact of Typhoon Haiyan we are looking for a delegate in the function of
 
Field Coordinator
 
based in the Philippines.
 
The SRC Field Coordinator fills a generalist role in supporting and deputizing the SRC Country Coordinator in planning and managing the different projects within the overall SRC program. The delegate will be responsible for managing the SRC field team (approx. 4-6 expatriates and a national team) and takes the responsibility for the SRC recovery program.
 
Role and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates the design and planning of projects on district level
• Coordinates the elaboration of project and funding proposals
• Coordinates the implementation and coherence of projects
• Line manages and supports technical delegates
• Assists the Country Coordinator in producing accurate, regular and timely narrative and financial reports
• Coordinates and collaborates with the different RC/RC actors, especially the PRC, the IFRC and the ICRC
• Monitors and analyzes trends in the project areas
 
Requirements:
• University degree in general management, business administration and/or development studies
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the coordination and management of post-disaster programs
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in leadership
• Experience in market analysis/assessments
• Experience in elaborating and writing project proposals and reports
• Analytical and strategic planning skills (Project Cycle Management-PCM)
• Very good written and spoken English is essential (working language)
• Diplomacy, sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to adapt to a challenging working environment
• Experience in working with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is an asset.
 
Conditions: 12 months minimum with the option of extension, starting as soon as possible respectively according to agreement. Adequate salary, social insurances, travel and accommodation expenses provided. No family posting.
