Baastel Europe is looking for a Project Officer with a Master’s Degree in international development/ business/ management or related field, or a Bachelor degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for a permanent position in Brussels’ office.
Expected start date: Late August or early September 2014. Employment start dates to be agreed with the selected candidate.

Compensation: Weeks of 38 hours, from Monday to Friday. 4 weeks of holiday per year. Paid full-time position; Monthly gross salary of € 1,800 ; fixed-term contract after a trial period.

Location of work: Rue de la Croix de Fer 23, 1, 1000 Brussels - Belgium.

Corporate Development
  • Expressions of interests, technical and financial proposal writing;
  • Experts and partners recruitment and selection, negotiation of fees;
  • Budget preparation;
  • Analyse results and compile lessons learned.
Project Management
  • Participate in planning processes and implementation phases of projects;
  • Monitor projects to ensure adherence to clients’ timelines and objectives;
  • Act as focal point between clients and consultants for all administrative, contractual and budgetary matters;
  • Support team leaders for the organization of missions and related logistics;
  • Maintain regular communications with team members to ensure quality throughout the implementation of projects;
  • Carry out budgetary control and coordinate invoicing processes and payments in collaboration with the accounting division;
  • Manage contractual aspects of projects, including the drafting of contracts and amendments and the coordination of signature processes.
Information Management and Administrative Support
  • Website update management ;
  • Database maintenance management ;
  • Data update including CVs on computer network;
  • Provide general administrative support such as scheduling meetings, answering calls, managing mails, invoices and contracts, ordering office equipment and kitchen supplies, etc.
Required skills and qualities:
  • University degree preferably a Master degree in international development/business/management, or Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Good knowledge of office software (MS Office);
  • Perfect knowledge of English and French, third language an asset;
  • Excellent writing skills in English and French;
  • Good oral communication, excellent written communication;
  • Ability with numbers and budgets;
  • Organization and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Prioritization and multi-tasking;
  • Attention to details and quality;
  • Analysis and synthesis skills;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Initiative, dynamism and motivation;
  • Knowledge of international development would be preferable.
