world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and
people.
Currently we are searching for a qualified candidate to fill the position of:
ACCOUNTANT-FISHERIES CONSERVATION PROGRAM
The
Accountant is responsible to implement and manage the accounting system
in compliance with The Nature Conservancy internal requirement. S/he is
responsible for preparing and/or reviewing general
ledger transactions to insure accuracy of TNC’s financial reports. S/He
performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting-related tasks,
verifies accuracy and coding for journal entry transactions and
compares against source documents to ensure compliance
with established accounting procedures.
The
Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of a complete
and accurate general ledger and in preparing basic financial reports.
S/He provides support to the Finance & Admin Manager – Marine Program in administering grants/sub-grants. S/He maintains
the company’s Account Payables, general
ledger, vendor payments and weekly and month-end reporting. S/He may
reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies. S/He may perform clerical
duties related to accounting tasks/functions.
Duties
may encompass a wide range of detailed accounting/financial transactions
from preparation of check request, review EER and MER, through general
and subsidiary ledger entries, financial report
preparation and reconciliation, bank statements and budget reporting.
S/He
understands work plan budget and the activities of the Fisheries
Conservation Program, in order to be able to track and evaluate
financial performance of program implementation. S/He must
be able to identify activity and source of fund of every transaction;
and to consult with Finance Manager and Program Director for any
variances. S/He generates periodic internal and external financial
reports. In coordination with Contract Administrator,
S/He maintains all Contract For Services and Sub Grants, to ensure that
all outstandings have been accounted in the periodic financial report.
This
position is based in Bali and will report directly to the Finance &
Admin Manager – Marine Program. S/He will coordinate and work closely
with the Finance team in Jakarta office.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-4 year of related work experience or equivalent combination
- Knowledge of GAAP and understanding of the basic principles of fund accounting
- May require working knowledge of grants accounting
- Solid knowledge and experience using automated systems
- Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word, Excel. May require database management skills with ability to produce reports. Ability to use advanced computer functions including ability to navigate the Internet
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills, including establishment of priorities and commitment to deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well with people
