The Position

The PME Coordinator reports to the Managing Director of the Regional Expertise Centre (REC) South and Southeast Asia and is a member of the management team of the South and Southeast Asia region. She/he is the head of the regional PME unit. The PME Coordinator works closely with the Regional Financial Controller and Programme Team for alignment of procedures relating to financial and result planning and reporting. She/he works closely with the global PME coordinator as contact for the REC on PME issues and regularly consults with Solidaridad PME staff globally. She/he works closely with PME staff and programme managers in the country offices in Bangladesh and Indonesia and facilitates collection and dissemination of information from local to global level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops further the strategy and policy for PME for the South & South East Asia region;
  • Translates PME policy into concrete information needs, objectives, results and activities in dialogue with managers and external experts ;
  • Coordinates and advises the development of strategic plans, programme planning, reporting and evaluation;
  • Supports programme managers in the development of proposals, specifically the theory of change and measurement plans;
  • Manages the regional portfolio of projects and administration pertaining to PME and quality management;
  • Work in close cooperation with relevant managers for meeting the PME needs of the donors and business partners and where needed, liaise with the donors directly;
  • Closely monitors and reports on the results and progress made with regard to the project implementation and provide monthly feedback to the MD;
  • Support MD and other board members with PME data in preparation with Board Meetings and preparation of Annual Reports. Manages evaluations conducted by consultants or commissioned to external institutions;
  • Manages post-evaluation communications, including lessons from evaluations and making them available to various stakeholders;
  • Keeps abreast of latest developments in PME and quality management and introduces them to the organization;
  • Reviews performance indicators and reports produced by different programme units and programme partners;
  • Assists in communication related to impacts of the programme as well as on other aspects of PME;
  • Supervise the PME team and Gender Focal Point Staff of the REC;
  • Prepare budgeting for PME programme and when required additional fundraising for PME

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in International Development, Social Science, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant work experience focussed on PME in international cooperation.
  • Experience with private sector development Programme.
  • Experience in working with policy makers, researchers, consultants and knowledge brokers in International Cooperation
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases and tools, e.g. salesforce)
  • Capable of working in a dynamic, inter cultural, multi stakeholder setting
  • Able to travel extensively within India and across Asia.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to produce professional reports in English language.

Salary and benefits

The senior management salary level prevalent in Indian development sector will be applicable for this position.
