Mekong Institute (MI) is an inter-governmental organization owned and operated by the six GMS governments. MI began its operation in 1996. Through the years, MI shares its development work in accordance with the changing need of the GMS region. With the support from the six GMS governments, MI works together with development partners to implement various development projects including training, research and policy consultations focusing on GMS issues for a more integrated, prosperous and harmonious GMS.

Position Description
This is an entry level support position. Reporting to the CKM Director, the Assistant needs extensive knowledge of MI, and is responsible for providing logistic and administrative support, budget preparation, and liaison with other Departments. S/he is will assist in the internal and external communications of the organization.

Main deliverables, responsibilities and tasks

Key deliverables

  • Logistics, procurement and administrative arrangements;
  • Translation from English into Thai and vice versa;
  • Maintain an up to date and accurate databases;
  • Collect news clippings from media, and monitor news clippings;
  • Take care of MI’s social media, Flickr and website;
  • Assist in MI internal and external CKM work;
  • Other tasks assigned by the Director.
Required qualifications, skills and experience

  • Bachelor degree in information management, communications, or other relevant fields
  • Proven ability to work in a team and to coordinate with others
  • Proven ability to write in English and Thai
  • Proficient user of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiar with photoshop,or ai software
  • Willingness to live and work in Khon Kaen
  • Team work: good interpersonal skills, ability to work with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds to achieve organizational goals
