CARE Australia is looking to fill the position of Disaster Ready Project Manager in our Timor-Leste Office. This role is responsible for providing management, coordination and technical support to the Disaster Ready Project (DRP). The role oversees shared activities and support joint initiatives across the DRP including M&E, reporting, advocacy, the development of Early Warning initiatives, communications and other joint activities. The role provides strategic and technical advice to project focal points and senior staff from partnering agencies. The role also supports the implementation of Shared Services initiatives coordinating through partnering agencies to enhance project outcomes in the areas of gender equality, disability inclusiveness, and child protection.
Your extensive project management experience in development and/or humanitarian aid, preferably within Timor-Leste context will be highly regarded. Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail and proven high level organisational and time management skills including the ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines will set you apart from others. Your strong understanding of the gender issues and of designing programs in a gender-sensitive way will be complemented by your strong understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context.
