CARE International Job Vacancy: Financial Analyst - Ottawa, Canada

CARE Canada is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to support the oversight of its Country Offices abroad.

The Financial Analyst will provide support the Director of Country Office Financial Analysis and Risk Management in overseeing the implementation of standards and guidelines regarding Country Office financial management, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and compliance and risk management. This individual will also closely monitor the financial performance, financial viability and risks of Country Offices, as well as provide support, technical advice and capacity building to Country Office staff.

This position will report directly to the Director, Country Office Financial Analysis and Risk Management, and will work alongside other members of the Corporate Services team at CARE Canada. This position is based in Ottawa, but international travel will be required. French and/or Spanish communications skills will be an asset.

What you offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with NGOs and be familiar with their billing structure
  • Experience with preparing and analyzing donor financial reports
  • Strong computer skill: advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access database, Outlook and the Windows operating environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (a valid passport will be required) (2-3 trips a year)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
What would make you extraordinary (Assets)?
  • Professional accounting designation (i.e. CA, CMA, CGA)
  • Experience or knowledge of Crystal Reports and Scala would be an asset
  • Fluency in French and/or Spanish
