A permanent Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position in surface water hydrology
We seek for a permanent Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position in the field of surface water hydrology. This recruitment is within the Key Lab of Water Cycle and Related Land Surface Processes, Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) in Beijing. The successful applicant will work within the large-scale hydrology modelling group led by Professor Yongqiang Zhang (Google Scholar).
IGSNRR has a staff of 616, of whom 443 are faculty members, including five CAS members, three members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and three members of the Third World Academy of Sciences-a UNESCO-associated institution devoted to furthering scientific research in the developing world. The institute offers Ph.D and M.Sc. programs in the fields of physical geography, human geography, cartography and GIS, natural resources, ecology, agro-forestry economic management, and environmental science. Nine academic journals and popular science magazines are affiliated with the institute, including the Journal of Geographical Sciences, the Journal of Natural Resources, and Chinese National Geography.
Applicant requirements:
- PhD degree in hydrological, remote sensing or climate sciences
- Strong interest and background in hydrology, ecology, remote sensing and climate changes
- Strong publishing records
- Good English communication and writing skills, with knowledge of Chinese being an advantage for the working environment.
