ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 
  • University degree 
  • Experience and sound understanding of project cycle management in international development; 
  • Understanding of WASH Programming in Humanitarian and Development context; 
  • Ability to think creatively and practically to improve Monitoring, Evaluation, Sharing and Learning; 
  • Experience of gathering, analyzing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data; 
  • Good organizational skills including accuracy, consistency, attention to detail, tenacity and the ability to work under pressure. Strong inter-personal skills and self-awareness; 
  • Effective communication skills including fluency (speaking and writing) in English
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN UNPAID POSITION, CESVI WILL RECOGNISE: INSURANCE AND MONTHLY HOUSE ALLOWANCES. UPON SATSFACTORY PERFORMANCE A CONTRACT COULD BE SIGNED FOR ADDITIONAL 6 MONTHS.

WORK CONTEXTIn 2012 CESVI celebrated the tenth anniversary in Myanmar.
Main focus of CESVI’s interventions is Community Empowerment with integrated actions on Health, Livelihood, Wash and Environment. CESVI’s volume of activities and operational capacity in Myanmar have been increasing in the last years, now reaching around 500.000 beneficiaries with a team of more than 240 staff. CESVI is currently working in two States (Northern Shan and Kachin) and four Regions (Magway, Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon) with a total of 23 Townships and more than 1.000 villages covered. CESVI is operating from a main Country Office in Yangon, Area Offices in PyinOoLwin and Magway and Field Offices in almost every Township.
CESVI’s WASH and Environment Country program is managed by a Sector Coordinator and is currently composed by two main actions:
  • an EU funded project on Solid Waste Management in Yangon (implemented with a wide range of partners) 
  • an ECHO project in Kachin on WASH and shelters 
CESVI aims to increase its presence and image in the country under this strategic sector, both through donor acquisition and development of best practices and lessons learned. 
JOB DESCRIPTION
The unpaid collaboration will start in July2014. It will last 6 months. Upon mutual satisfaction after the initial internship period a contract will be offered for other 6 months.
The intern will based in Yangon with field visits.
S/he works under the direct supervision of W/E Sector Coordinator and in close collaboration with all the staff.
The direct responsible is the HQ’s Desk Officer.
OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION: 
  • Assisting in designing and managing an effective and participatory program monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning system in the WASH Program ensuring quality standards are maintained and that learning is documented. 
  • Efficient management of the WASH Program information and documentation system. 
  • Contributing to proposal development by mainstreaming the learning from the WASH Program. 
  • Assisting in liaising with other WASH actors in country and ensure that internal learning of the WASH Program is shared within the larger Myanmar WASH Sector, both in the development and humanitarian contexts. 
  • Contributing to the capacity building of the WASH Program country team and WASH Program local partners.
EXPECTED OUTPUTs: 
  • The WASH Program refers to a coherent and well-structured MELS [Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Sharing] framework and incorporates MELS recommendations; 
  • The WASH Program relies on an update database and functional information system;
  • The WASH Program relies on high-quality documentation; 
  • The WASH Program is developed through an effective analysis of previous and current experience and through capacity building based on the WASH Program learning; 
  • The WASH Program is effectively represented externally.
